I’m just a poor country boy from the Mid-South who, by the grace of God, is what he is, nothing fancy, just a traveler, going “on to perfection.”
Raised in rural Mississippi, my life has been uneventful by most standards, but that’s just the way of things. I married my high-school sweetheart, nineteen or so years ago and we have two beautiful children who remind us daily that God is good. In October of 2003, I finally, after many years of evasion, surrendered to God’s call and began pursuing ordination in the United Methodist Church. While serving as Local Pastor of the Courtland United Methodist Charge in Courtland, Mississippi, I am also enrolled at Memphis Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee where I am pursuing a Master of Divinity degree.
But most of all, I just want to love God and neighbor, and help others experience the abundant life that God promises.
I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. (Gal 2:20 NASB)
